Project overview
GEMU is an internal, centralized information and self-service platform developed and implemented at Getir. It is designed to provide employees across various departments, including Development, HR, and Design, with instant access to essential company information and resources.
By consolidating key data and processes, GEMU acts as a single source of truth for administrative and organizational queries, empowering employees to find the information they need quickly and efficiently.
Problem
Before the implementation of GEMU, Getir's employees faced significant challenges when trying to access routine information. Common but essential queries—such as checking remaining vacation days, finding the correct expense reimbursement forms, or identifying an employee's current title and team—required a manual process.
Employees had to direct their questions to the HR and Payroll departments, often leading to:
- Lost Productivity:
Time was spent by employees drafting emails or messages, waiting for a response, and following up.
- High Workload for HR & Payroll:
These specialized departments were frequently occupied with answering repetitive, low-complexity questions, diverting their focus from more strategic, high-impact tasks.
- Information Delays:
Depending on the HR team's workload, getting a simple answer could take hours or even days, causing delays in tasks like travel booking or project planning.
- Inconsistent Information:
Information about company structure or roles could quickly become outdated, and employees might receive slightly different answers depending on who they asked.
This friction created inefficiencies that affected employees' daily workflows and placed an unnecessary administrative burden on core departments.
Goal
The primary goal for creating GEMU was to streamline internal operations and
enhance the employee experience at Getir.
The project aimed to:
01. Empower Employees
Provide a self-service tool that allows employees to find answers to their most common questions independently, without needing to contact another department.02. Centralize Information
Create a single, reliable source for information regarding vacation policies, expense procedures, and the organizational chart.03. Increase Efficiency
Reduce the volume of repetitive inquiries directed at the HR and Payroll teams, freeing them to concentrate on their core functions.04. Improve Accessibility
Ensure that all employees, whether in development, design, or HR, have 24/7 access to up-to-date company information.

Outcome
The launch of GEMU has been a resounding success, transforming how employees at Getir access and interact with company information. The platform has delivered tangible benefits across the organization.
Employees in the Development, HR, and Design departments now use GEMU as their first point of contact for administrative needs. Instead of asking colleagues or sending emails to HR, they can now instantly look up their vacation balance, download the latest expense form, or view a detailed, current organizational chart to see who holds which title.
The outcome has been a significant improvement in operational efficiency and employee satisfaction. The HR and Payroll departments have reported a noticeable reduction in routine questions, allowing them to focus on strategic initiatives. For all employees, the process is now simpler, faster, and more transparent. GEMU has successfully removed previous bottlenecks, fostering a more autonomous and productive work environment at Getir.
